White Elephant: observatory on the top of the mountain

The largest wonder of the mountain of Pip Ivan is a highland observatory, ruins of which tower on the top. People call the observatory “White Elephant”. They say that in winter covered with snow and ice and blew with strong winds the outlines of observatory reminds figure of an elephant.

In the morning when the camp packed quite fast we cook porridge and in the evening when our cooks are not so dependent from time we offer soups. We also have a prepared meal for a dinner not just a snack. All garbage is transported on the catamarans or rafts; correspondingly, we have a great opportunity to diversify our ration means of fresh fruit and vegetables which cannot be possible in the mountains.

Menu on the Cheremosh

Rafting-camp “Tourclub” has specially arranged places for cooking and having meal. Our cook is an experienced and tested person since she (usually) prepares meal in field conditions for a large number of people. A compulsory element of our menu is hot dishes among which naturally is borsch, a national Ukrainian dish. We try to omit using ready-to-cook-food and prefer healthy eating.
