Rafting on the Dniester: In the land of fortresses and waterfalls

A three-day rafting on the Dniester River is usually planned for holidays to use in the best way extended weekend. This tour in addition to rafting includes visiting ruins of the fortress in Rakivets, velvet waterfalls and giant of the plain, the amazing Dzhuryn (Chervonohrad) Waterfall. Bonus of the three-day rafting is a trip to the Hermit's Cave and sightseeing in Chortkiv.

day 1

  • Tourclub guides meet the group at the railway station in Ivano-Frankivsk. How to get to the tour?
  • transfer to Nezvysko Village (the starting place of rafting) by mini-bus
  • Tourclub guides will conduct safety briefing and prepare rafting equipment
  • rafting route: Nezvysko - Kopachyntsi, 17 km
  • stop in Rakivets Village. It was archaeological treasure of Ukraine during the time of Trypilian culture (IV-III century. BC). There are many legends about hidden treasures and unique underground stream nearby the village
  • visiting a desolate Beniowski Tower and fortress in Rakivets
  • encamping 
day 2
  • rafting route: Kopachyntsi - Shutromintsy, 23 km
  • walking to Red Mountain in a beautiful Beremyany Canyon; for its warm climate inhabitants call this place "Dniester Subtropics". Multitude of legends are dedicated to that mountain
  • The route passes through the Khmeleva Village and ends at gas pipeline Urengoy – Pomary – Uzhgorod
  • walking to the Helmit's Cave and ancient oak tree in Lytyachi: the cave is located in a fantastic by its beauty place, in a rock on the height more than 100 m over the water, where you can enjoy an unforgettable scenery of winding river valley and mysterious islands shaped like symbols"yin and yang"
  • encamping and overnight in the tents
day 3
  • rafting route: Shutromintsy – Ustechko, 8 km
  • route ends in Ustechko Village
  • transfer to Dzhuryn Waterfall
  • walking to Dzuryn (Chervonohrad) Waterfall, 16 m high - the largest plain waterfall in Ukraine; excursion to the remnants of Chervonohrad castle and church; swimming under waterfall, also called as"Dniester Jacuzzi"
  • transfer to Chortkiv, arrival approximately at 7:00 p.m.
  • 1-hour excursion in Chortkiv. There are two unique wooden churches 17-18 centuries, monumental Church 20 century, several modern and very beautifully decorated churches and the ruins of the castle
  • going home
