One trip that gives an opportunity to visit different places of the western part of Ukraine, to see ancient castles, discover gypsum caverns, uncover old trypillian culture, observe world from a top of Ukrainian Carpathian mountains and to raft on the inflammable catamaran between walls of the mighty Dniester canyon. day 1
excursion to the cave Mlynky
- “Tourclub”s instructors meets the group at 8:00 a.m. on the railway station in Ternopil
- A sightseeing walk in Ternopil, in the center of which situated towns yearling lake (area 400 ha); founded in the 1547 to serve as protective barrier for a castle and producing profit with help of 4 mills, placed on the lake banks and by generous fishery; in the summertime on the lake there are functioning two boats (wonderful viewing spot from a distance and an occasion to visit far beach); on the bank of the lake there was Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth defensive outpost that helped to stop attacks of Crimean Tatars, walled-up in 1540-1548; in nowadays only the palace remains from the entire complex
- Numerous parks and squares softens up towns grayness and decorates asphalt jungles creating cozy corners for relaxation and communication
- Bus transfer to Mlynky caverns
- On the way to tremendous beauty of gypsum cave Mlynky, we stop in Terebovlia and Mykulynci
- Terebovlia is the town, where old city walls have preserved; by the time of Late Middle Ages Terebovlia was also known as reliable fortress; Besides from the castle in Terebovlia you should also pay a visit to defensives walls and towers of Carmelites Monastery Complex (XVII century), and see st. Mykolai church
- Stop in a village Mykulynci where our attraction will be driven by fortress built in late 30 in XVII century, situated on the right bank of the river Gnizna on the cliff of high plateau (51m)
- Preparation to the cave excursion; during the 3 hour tour you’ll get to see crystals and gypsum plate, crawl through thin passages see broad halls and encounter native habitants – bats
- After some rest in speleohouse group leaves to the ground beauty – cascade of Rusylivsky waterfalls (this stream has the largest waterflow in Ukraine: 14 waterfalls, highest reaches 12m)
day 2
rafting on the Dniester
- Dniester rafting route (27km): Nezvysko – Berem’yany; near to the village Rakivets you get to see lonely standing Benovskyy tower (today on the place of fortress, afterwards soda plant remains only the hexagonal tower-donjon)
- at last “Dniester subtropics”: the so called territory nearby Berem’yan, where from above Chervona Gora (150m above Dniester level) watches rivers tangled water flows; they say it’s casual to see snow around these places in a wintertime (it only last for day or two); high bank of the south exposure and quiet valleys increase fine days, bluff that stretches towards south direction is creating obstacle for cold winds and keeps the warmth inside the valley.

excursion to cave-museum Verteba and to Dzhurynsky waterfall
- Excursion to cave-museum Verteba (one of the biggest caves in Europe with a 7820m long passages) – place where the largest trypillian settlement was ever found. You get to see life of humans during the Stone Age, namely trypillian couches, jags and bones. Wide range of Krakhiv museum exhibits is based upon Verteba discovers.
- relocation to town Borschiv (interesting places: water reservoir of the river Seret with fossil remains, ancient temple curved in mountain with sacrificial stone, IX century)
- excursion to Museum of history and country study of town Borschiv
- Trip to the longest plain waterfall of Ukraine (16m) – Dzhurynski, also known as Chervonogradskyi; After watching of unrestrained flows of the waterfall, (there is a legend that tell us about handmade appearance of this waterfall: that Turks changed its flow direction trying to capture the fortress) taking the “Dniester Jacuzzi” we can take tour to ruins of the Chervonogradskyi castle (XVII century), which is the limelight countryside of the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth, and to a church (XVII century). Chervonograd – is a city that has vanished from the maps, which name derived from a soil color (small sands particles that gives terrain a red shade)
